Job Description

We’re looking for a Creative Director to own and lead the visual expression of Sassa Foods. This role is not about mood boards alone. It’s about translating brand strategy into real images that create desire and drive pre-orders. You will work closely with the Founder and Brand Strategist to bring the brand world to life across photography, campaign concepts, packaging alignment, and digital content. What You’ll Do: Creative Direction & Visual World Translate brand strategy into a cohesive visual system Define the brand’s visual language (composition, lighting, texture, restraint) Guard the balance between mystery and clarity — premium but legible Photo & Video Shoot Direction (Key Responsibility) Concept and direct all shoots (product, campaign, editorial) Create clear shoot briefs for photographers and videographers Be present (physically or virtually) to direct shoots Select final assets that align with the brand and conversion goals Cross-Collaborator Alignment Align packaging designer, photographer, and social executor visually Review packaging concepts for visual consistency (not technical specs) Ensure social content reflects the brand world, not trends Launch & Validation Support Help design Phase 1 visuals focused on waitlist + pre-order validation Shape assets that test whether the brand aesthetic resonates at a premium level Adjust direction based on early audience feedback What This Role Is Not Not brand positioning or messaging (handled by Brand Strategist) Not daily social posting or analytics Not graphic production or packaging dielines Not final decision-maker (Founder retains final say) Who You Are Background in fashion, beauty, culture, or editorial branding Experienced directing shoots (not just designing decks) Comfortable working with food without turning it into food porn Sensitive to African and diasporic aesthetics beyond surface-level tropes Able to collaborate, not overpower — you respect founder-led vision
