OVERVIEW - King and Partners - create, transform and grow exceptional brands. The Design Director is a well-rounded digital creative who’s passionate about crafting thoughtful and visually sophisticated digital brand experiences. Our ideal person is able to harmonize both visual and design thinking into every deliverable, lead and mold junior designers and effectively guide clients through the end-to-end design process. RESPONSIBILITIES - Serve as the design lead on a number of diverse projects from beautiful hospitality websites to highly transactional eCommerce brand flagships. Obtain a thorough understanding of the clients’ requirements, goals, objectives, limitations to ensure that project teams adhere to client expectations and produce the right creative solutions. Lead and facilitate conversations with clients, ultimately guiding them through the design process. Manage, inspire and develop direct reports by providing guidance, feedback and support on their growth; serve as a mentor for design colleagues on projects you lead. Collaborate with other disciplines such as account management, strategy, copywriting and marketing to ensure that we consistently deliver creative excellence. Push the creative envelope - thinking about how we can help evolve our design practice and infuse innovation into every opportunity. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - A minimum of five years of visual design experience with proven experience working across a variety of digital projects. Experience working in a design, consulting or creative agency as a design leader. Demonstrated experience with leading and managing high performing teams. An impeccable eye when it comes to visual aesthetics - you know what good design looks like. Solid understanding of ecommerce best practices. Adept in team collaboration, organization and meticulousness. Able to confidently present your design approach with clients, field questions and gain their trust.
