The Department of Art & Design at the University of New Haven invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level in Graphic Design beginning Fall 2024. The Department seeks to hire a highly skilled colleague with expertise in Graphic Design for a position with an anticipated start date of Fall 2024. Our program in Graphic and Digital Design is innovative, technology-focused, and rapidly growing. We seek candidates with an innovative approach to teaching foundational courses through upper-division studio and lecture courses in the undergraduate Graphic Design program as well as graduate courses in human-centered design and UI/UX in the M.S. Information Science program. We seek a candidate with significant industry experience and the ability to mentor students for internships and professional practices. We encourage applicants whose professional practice shows experience in traditional methodologies, extensive knowledge of current applications, and a commitment to emerging technologies. The successful candidate will have an interdisciplinary mindset and vested interest in collaboration across the University’s colleges, as well as a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Faculty are expected to actively participate in departmental, college, and university-wide committee work; curriculum development; NASAD accreditation; academic support services such as portfolio review and undergraduate advisement; student recruitment; and professional organizations.
