Job Description

The Caribbean Woman Film (w/t) team is looking for an EDITOR and VFX ARTIST with experience editing narrative/experimental Fashion Films. The EDITOR will cut the ~15 minutes film, a teaser, and a trailer. The VFX ARTIST should have experience creating visual effects for folkloric, mythical, and surrealist films with After Efx or similar video comping programs. Preference to work specifically with Caribbean descent artists but open to all! Narrated by a hilariously witty old sage bush woman, this film examines the question “What makes up a Caribbean woman?” Using the post-colonial condition of the in-between as the basis of our understanding. It is in this in-between space that the Caribbean woman comes alive! — Magical yet human. Religious yet sexually liberated. European yet African. Bush yet cosmopolitan. Editing and VFX style will resemble Beyonce's "Black is King" and aesthetically align with the genre of Afro-surrealism. Roles are paid a flat rate; EDITOR $3K. VFX $2K. Shooting March 2023.
