We are looking for a Design Research Director to join our team for a potentially long term project. Our partner, a notable U.S. financial institution, has engaged Runyon to stand up a new, independent digital bank as a corporate venture. The proposed banking venture will focus on the middle market. Across three design phases, the project will span discovery through beta launch. Across three design phases, the project will span discovery through beta launch. Target launch for Phase I of the project is February 6 and will span eight weeks, with possible continuation of the project up to 18 months. This is a remote-friendly position. A candidate in this role will play a crucial role throughout the entire project process — using research to inspire our design team, inform better prototypes, and elevate the perspective of our partners. They must be adept at uncovering human-centered insights, and skillful at translating these insights into meaningful opportunities for design and innovation. They will lead projects with both empathy and conviction for the partner we’re designing for. They lead with listening and ask thoughtful questions with the understanding that you can see problems from different perspectives.
