We're a diverse and experienced group of creatives, engineers, researchers, innovators—and as the NYC outpost of Samsung HQ’s NextGen UX Lab, we design the future of mobile experiences... defining what user experiences should be, sometimes before they are possible.
By leveraging both research insights and focused experimentation, you will collaborate with teammates to develop frameworks and innovative experiences across any and all of Samsung’s current – and future - mobile devices. Your tech-forward creative thinking, investigative prototyping and programming, and iterative mindset will push forward the collective intellect of the studio, while you also continually add to a kit of real, working experiences and exploratory tools. All of the members of the studio – regardless of their vertical - are partners in the process from the beginning of any project. We all add our diverse expertise to early stage work, to think broadly and incisively. Then each member brings their own unique set of skills together to realize and communicate our vision for the future.
Will contribute to a positive and flexible culture of support, collaboration, and intellectual generosity. Please understand that we are serious about this. We go fast sometimes, but we also go far because we go together.
Are committed to developing brilliant experiences for any user, goal, or arena… and can envision a future and the roadmap to get there.
Have excellent communication. Clearly articulate concepts and intent, break down a complex problem into simpler components, comfortable communicating both visually and verbally. You are happy to teach others what you’ve learned over the years and what you are learning today.
Have the ability to produce concepts, frameworks, code and presentation materials to a very high standard, but also understand the importance of applying the appropriate fidelity at different stages of the process.
Embody a deep understanding of technology and engineering as generalist, but have your own specialty as well and deploy the right tools at the right time to build the ideal experience.
Are comfortable conceptually and technically with a variety of devices, from mobile to wearable to XR.
Must have strong XR development experience. This means Unity and C# are second nature for you, and ideally you have creatively hacked some XR experiences using different inputs, platforms, and devices.
Have a strong understanding of UX design principles and best practices and their applications.
Never stop learning, and stay humble. Comfortable dealing the ambiguity and change that comes with innovation work.
