Job Description

The Exhibition Specialist is responsible for matting and framing, and unframing, works in the collection and loan objects, and ensuring all matted and/or framed works are installed/deinstalled and displayed safely: • Responsible for matting/framing, creating custom book mounts, custom installations for works on paper and ensuring that assigned projects are completed to the necessary standards, on time, within budget, and within resource constraints. • Responsible for working with project teams on matting/framing and custom book supports, custom installations for works on paper and supporting Cooper Hewitt departments through several stages for exhibitions. • Performing work utilizing various machinery including mat cutters and follows museum safety procedures. • Responsible for data entry related to artwork, such as dimensions and/or collection location into the museum’s collection management system, TMS (The Museum System).
